At Reading Is Revolutionary, we believe that sharing stories--our own and others'--can change the world and enrich lives. It can bridge divisions, offer comfort and hope, and open new horizons and perspectives. Our mission is to serve as a community champion and resource for literacy and the literary arts by:

Reading Is Revolutionary was founded in 2024 by Village Books owner, Teresa Kenney, to expand the reach and impact of the literary arts and literacy programming.

Every dollar can make a difference:
$10-$20 allows us to purchase one or more board books or picture books for future readers in foster care who may find comfort in a story read to them at bedtime.
$20-$35 allows us to purchase one or two books for students or adults struggling with emotional difficulties, who may find hope or commonality through reading.
$50-$100 allows us to expand our programming to share more stories, ignite more imaginations, and inspire more creativity.
